Ntenjeru medical clinic now open
Â
Word in Deed teamed with the Ntenjeru church in Uganda to fund and build a medical clinic to serve a community where no other medical services exist within a fifty-mile radius.  A team of WID medical professionals travelled to Ntenjeru in October 2009 to stock the clinic with supplies and treat hundreds of local residents for ailments such as rashes, skin infections and venereal disease. The team also educated the residents on basic hygiene practices and nutrition. One neighbor delivered bags of fresh fruit to the team, which they made into fruit salad to serve those waiting for care.Â

An elderly local resident was overwhelmed with laughter when she put on a pair of reading glasses provided by the clinic and could “see” for the first time. Plans are underway to staff the clinic with local professionals as well as to send medical personnel from the United States to serve for extended terms.
