Statistics from Uganda Medical Mission Trip – May, 2019
Below is the statistics from the May Medical Mission Trip. As is well documented, this is a team effort and we are so grateful for all those how contributed their time, talent and treasures in the capacities they did. Lots of volunteer hours of preparation go into these trips, lots of prayers, lots of packing! We thank you for your support in making it a successful trip.
Summary From PB Atlantic University, Gregory School of Pharmacy
Patients:
- 721 patients served through the clinics, this number does not include the number of patients we screened just for HIV or the patients that received only multi-vitamins, Albendazole, and/or Ibuprofen without seeing the doctor.
- Total: 900 patients served! Bunakijja Village was our top day with 257 patients (199 clinic, 58 dental).
Prescriptions:
- 2,245 prescriptions filled through the clinics.
- 262 prescriptions filled through the dental team.
- Total: >2500 prescriptions filled! That is a whole lot of tablets!
- Bunakijja (day 2) was our top day with 699 prescriptions (602 clinic, 97 dental).

- Total number of patients 199
- Total number of extractions 242
- Total number of cleanings -simple 5 /moderate 5 / deep 45 quadrants
- Total number of fillings permanent 10 – temporary 2
- Total number of SDF (silver diamine fluoride) 16
Summary from Wings for Women
- 90 Women attending Sewing Club Tea event in Ntenjeru to discuss best practices for business
- 581 packages of AfriPads distributed to 4 Villages, 3 schools, 2 orphanages
- 396 women/girls attended educational seminars on Girls Talk; 408 girls panties distributed-250 dresses distributed
- Five financial grants to support expanding & new business – Piggery, sewing, chickens, soap-making
- Family Planning Services – 35 IUD; 34 Jadelle Implants; 9 Depo Provera; 61 Cervical Cancer Screenings
Summary from Word InDeed Ministries
Through the generosity of our supporters, WID was able to deliver to the 5 villages in the Mukono District surrounding Lake Victoria (Ntenjeru, Bunakijja, Lulagwe, Mpunge, Seeta) –
- 500 Mosquito Nets to help prevent Malaria
- 7 cases of Bibles in Lugandan & 3 cases of Bibles in English
- 500 pairs of shoes to school children through the partnership with Sole Hope Ministries
- 20 surgeries performed by our Ugandan medical team at Village hospital in Kitosi
- 22 Ugandans attended formal Translator Training and signed Team Covenant with WID.
