It Takes A Village – Thank You Supporters
New Hope and a Future
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I, Send me!’ “
– Isaiah 6:8
Our world if filled with places and opportunities for giving and volunteering. You generally do not have to look very far, even in our your communities here in the USA. But the reality is our nation has an abundance of resources where help is available; if you know where to look, know who to ask… if you care enough to make giving and loving part of your DNA.
The circumstances in third world countries, like Uganda, are much different. They do not have a government that is very concerned about the cleanliness of their water or if citizens in remote areas are able to get health care. Even in the major cities, like Kampala, it has been my limited experience that despite all the financial assistance which is being poured into this country by numerous NGO’s, little children are still sleeping on the streets; orphans are left to fend for themselves in a dark, loveless environment.
As an organization, Word in Deed cannot fix any of these problems. They have been indicative to this African country for many years, a culture of corruption and lack of basic human condition that support the most minimal of needs. But, what we can do is provide what I call ‘baby steps’ in making changes in the lives of a few young children that offer a glimmer of hope and a desire to look to a future that may be different from what they have seen in the past.
A team of missionaries recently returned from a 2-week trip (Sept. 2013) with Word in Deed that provided a variety of ministry opportunities in the villages where we are working. One of the blessings for me, as I sit here in my comfortable living room with Internet and tools to communicate, is perusing the pictures that bring to life a plan in action. These pictures are the visual affirmation that the hope and the future for this community is making progress and we need to keep memorializing this, so someone like you – who is “out there†and reading this  can participate in being the hands and feet of Jesus.
These pictures tell a story (many stories really) and the progress that has been made just over the past 2-years is telling in these photos.  As an organization, we would also like to say “thank you†to the generous supporters who have been faithful in allowing the vision to become a reality. The truth is, without these financial blessings, none of this can happen. The brick and mortar, the water barrels, the classrooms, the clinics, the teachers, the children being educated…none of this happens without the hearts of people like you willing to support us as a ministry. Partnership with our common goals for these young children and communities is providing exponentially, those who are the least of these, those needing hope in their future.
Word in Deed Ministries would like to say “THANK YOU†and may God continue to be glorified in all we do in Uganda, and each place we are called to serve.  There are many individuals who have supported the various ministries and missionaries who travel to Africa to share the gospel with our sisters and brothers in far away lands. We could not do this ministry without your support, and no donation is too small. Every donation is genuienly appreciated.
Below are links to various ministry partners and organizations that have supported WID in the mission field. Â We wanted to recognize them and thank them also for their continued faithfulness. This is just the example of how it “Takes A Village” to help a village. God bless!

These modern dormitories and outdoor seating area, with the added resource of water tanks are just an example of the combined efforts of the above listed supporters who have entrusted Word In Deed Ministries to utilize these funds in building a better mind, body and soul for the young children in Uganda. Praise God for their hearts for service to others.
