Senegal and Kenya

Since 2006, Word in Deed has branched out into other developing countries, including Senegal and Kenya. We promote sports programs for children, paint schools, build relationships in local communities, fund business projects to help business development leading to self-sustainment. WID partners with local Pastors, churches, teachers and community leaders to provide support for children in slums and orphanages.
A grassroots effort of our organization is to designate land for local farmers to develop self-sustaining farms and piggeries to not only feed their own families, but in turn provide food and/or financial assistance for neighboring orphanages.
We recently provided financial assistance to three farmers in the Mairobi slum of Mukurusina who will share their

proceeds with the Cana Children’s Home. This orphanage houses and schools 250 orphans, with hopes of expanding to accommodate over 750 additional children who currently live without shelter or adequate food. One goal of WID is to provide assistance for seven more farmers, which will allow the Cana Children’s Home and School to be self-sustaining.
